Introduction

As the accessibility and the nature of the knowledge will continue to grow and change, the textbooks will also have to continue to transform as well. They are required to be changed from being stationary printed volumes to counteract being outdated as soon as they are in the hands of readers and students (Torrance & Goff, 2009, pp. 136-145). Text books are as universal as formal schooling and roughly as old. They have been brought into play to aid teaching and sometimes act teachers for centuries. Text book have not only been the learning and teaching objectives but are also legal, political and official document that reflects the vision of a particular group or relevant information (Chall et.al, 2011).

But with the transforming world, the text books are also revealing the changing facets day by day although the purpose has remained same; to aid building a knowledge platform for students. Textbooks should continue expand as leader and guider for both teacher and students coordinating diverse resources form simulations and animations to interactive activities and exercises (Torrance & Goff, 2009, pp. 136-145).

The future text books will also be focusing on interactive learning, electronic interfacing and developing critical thinking rather than knowledge transmission merely.Even before the revolution of computer, the significant learning and teaching materials were a disputed issue (Torrance & Goff, 2009, pp. 136-145). The changing face of text book emerge in the form of various technology revolution that have partly replaced and are further expected to completely replace text books in the very near futures near future(Olsen, 2010, pp. 337-343).

Modernized and revolutionized technologies are focusing on developing more advance learning instruments like eBooks, digital libraries, online teaching and many more (Chall et.al, 2011).
