Introduction
Marriage is one event which is widely referred by everyone as one of their happiest day in life. Whether if people are planning their marriage or reflects on their marriage afterwards, for many it brings an inspiring warm feelings and happiness on people's face. For others marriage have opposite effects, because it's something that was inflicted upon them on rush and it simply didn't work for them for any odd reasons.
Many people get scared of this and run away from it. For many people it's an aspiration that hasn't become a reality yet. It's not that they haven't found anyone yet as these people have been with partners since a long time. The law simply don't allow these people to marry as in the US same sex marriage is disallowed which is also referred to as gay marriage.

This argument can be counteracted by the notion that in the past marriages were held for procreation which doesn't hold true for now. Many of the marriages were loveless which leads to more women getting subjugated by their male counter parts. In the contemporary settings people are allowed to go ahead with marriage even if they intend to raise children or not.
The case of Department of Public Health against the Goodridge in 2003 is one of the landmark cases for promoting the same sex marriages in the US. The argument put forward in this case was that marriage is held for prompting greater harmony and tranquility amongst the partners instead of just raising the children's. One cannot infer that homosexuals don't want to have their children's. It is felt ...
