Introduction

There are some places in the world, which allow humans absolute freedom regarding what they want to write or wear, express them and even choose which sex they prefer to like or be involved with. The relationship between the same sexes is a very controversial subject. The response of South America is typically noted to be extreme regarding the subject. Homosexuals, gays or lesbians are groups of people who are entertained well in the South. The South is known to be a conservative place, with a much lower literacy rate and religious extremists. The local mindset is strictly against the choice of having a relationship with the same sex.

However, there are various protests being made on the inequality of treatment. The South is considered to the home of various anti-gay groups. Some of them are powerful enough to portray to the public what they feel and what the public should feel regarding a particular subject. It is important to note that the activities in the past portrayed that even the people who are gay and powerful did not revolt against any anti-gay movements or activities. The mayor of Houston is a typical example of this. He is openly gay, but did not do anything when the local Fox affiliate aired a segment asking the people if certain programs were “too Gay”. However, the people who have indulged themselves to be part of groups do raise their voice, which has been an ongoing struggle in the South.
