Thesis Statement

How Earth and its physical evolution is impacting human activity and natural the geological environment with different energy and mineral resources present in the Earth's crust.

Origin of Earth

It is estimated that about 3,000 million years ago the planet of earth was cool and because of this coolness it had the ability to form the masses. The formation and the origin of the earth have been explained as the cause of the retrieval of the smaller chunks of the supercontinent named Rodinia approximately 600 million years ago. Those chunks were spitted away about 750 million years ago and the formation of that whole body of chunks took place about 110 million years ago (Mandell, 2007). The retrieval and the coming back of those chunks created the Pan African mountains in the newly forms supercontinent known as Pannotia. On the other hand, there are also some observations which shows that the earth is around 4.55 billion years ago. This observation is done with the help of the radioactive rays which hit the earth all the time. The dating of the radioactive rays shows the above stated time of the origin of the earth (Ertel, 2006).

As far as the location of the earth is concerned, the distance of the earth in the solar system is measured in the light years. This is the distance covered by the light in the one complete year. There are 3.15x10^7 seconds in the light year as per the approximation. The estimated distance in the light year is almost 10 trillion kilometers. The estimated distance of the planet Pluto from the sun in the solar system is about 5.4 light years and from this distance we can also estimate the distance of the earth from the sun. This is because the earth is almost in the center of the sun and the Pluto. This means that the earth is located in between the Pluto and sun having the distance of about 2.5 light years from the sun (Mandell, 2007).

Composition

The basic components of the earth consist of the different types of the meteoroids. Though the components seem to be simpler in the terms defined above, the components are not that simple. In order to estimate the composition of the planet earth, it requires much derivation and of the silicate and the core which is basically the curst of the earth (Mandell, 2007). This is because the curst and the core of the earth are formed likely with the different types of elements and also in the different conditions. These conditions include some high pressure conditions and some low pressure conditions (Ertel, 2006).

In the broader terms the composition of the earth consists of around 109 building blocks. In this composition the atoms occurring naturally formed from 92 different elements are combined together which has forms the myriad of the materials. These materials are often used by the human beings in their daily lives (Mandell, 2007). The main components form the crust, mantle and core of ...
