Google Suspected of Spying

Abstract

Google is being suspected of carrying out espionage activities. The company, however, negated it and called it part of innovation process to provide customize solutions to each individual user. This purpose of the study is to evaluate the cons and pros of Google spying activities and establish some grounds for its justification. On the basis of our evaluation, we will try to reach a consequential conclusion.

Introduction

Internet has become part and parcel of our lives. From social networking to professional groups, from emailing to video calling, from recreation to college assignments, we have been using internet for everything. It has acquired the shape of the digital frontier which has provided us with abundant of resources to share knowledge, information and express. Recently, there has been raised an issue that the information we share is being used against us. One of the incidents is related to Google, which has found to be spying on users, to get information. Although Google has argued that the information is gathered to customize the services and better serve their users in future, but some have casted doubts on this notion. The underlying text will evaluate both sides of the picture and contrast the cons and pros to reach a meaningful conclusion.

Pros of Google Spying

If the term spying refers only to gather information that can be exploited against anybody then it might not be correct to link the Google name with this term. Google does gather information, not for the sake of using it against the user, but, rather, to serve the online community better. Google wants to customize the experience for each user according to his/her tastes and choices on the internet. It has assembled a data mine that aid it to provide customize results to each online individuals. Advertisement one person sees, when he is online, may not be same as of what other person views. Google has employed effective means to gather individual's data. One of it is digital footprint. It recovers the searched key words, visited websites and other user related data. So next time when the same individual comes online, he will be provided results which best matches with his previous experiences. Google claims that it is just for the interests of the user, so that they can provide the data and services according to their needs. They also says that it is done for ease of the user, and by doing this user's time is saved and with less input, the user can get greater output in return. From Google's perspective, this sounds very pleasing and in favor of the user, but if you look into it extremely then it brings a lot of reasons to go against Google's spying.
