Great Innovators of the Modern Era

Introduction

Innovation plays a crucial role in the development of contemporary society. It is the out-of-the-box thinking, that has - in this era of globalization, served as a way out to fight the menace of overpopulation and scarcity of resources. The modern era is characterized by great innovations in the areas of science and technology. Among the most accomplished innovators of the present era are the founders of the three I.T. giants: Google, Facebook, and Apple. Before moving to the detailed descriptions of these innovators, a brief history of their unprecedented innovations is presented.

Discussion

Google Search Engine, the most celebrated innovation of the modern era was developed in 1998. The founders were two Stanford graduates, Larry Page and Sergey Brin. These two innovators were Ph.D. students at Stanford University and started this project from scratch while working on the Stanford Digital Library Project called BackRub.

Steven Paul Jobs of Apple Inc. is another American entrepreneur who has been largely credited as the man behind the Apple Computer organization. Steve Jobs incorporated Apple in 1976 along with many other people with strong computer backgrounds.

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, co-founder of the popular social networking application 'Facebook', also deserves a name in the documentary. Zuckerberg, aged 27, is a computer programmer and an Internet entrepreneur.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin started the company Google Inc. with humble beginnings. The company launched its own IPO in August 2004, and since then has grown by the day, adding more dimensions to its existing portfolio of web-based applications. Page serves as the CEO of the company and manages the routine operations, besides leading the company's product development and technology strategy.
