Hate crime is a crime that is committed by an individual when he targets a victim because of that individual's perceived membership about a certain group in the society. Hate crimes are also known as race hate and bias motivated crimes. Hate crimes have a similar meaning in the subjects of both law and crime. It is significantly observed that hate crimes are increasing in the modern society with the passage of time, and this is because of the hatred that exists between people from different races, beliefs or cultures. The core focus of this paper is to discuss an incident about hate crime and analyze the cause of the occurrence of this incident and the results of the decision to this crime incident.

Discussion

It has been observed that hate crime is significantly increasing in the modern society and it is very important to take actions for the prevention for these types of crimes. There are many incidents that have been demonstrated involving hate crime. A case has been selected for discussion in this paper and the focus will be to analyze the essential findings of the selected hate crime incident.

Introduction to the Selected Hate Crime Incident

The introduction of the selected incident of hate crime demonstrates that a man of Provincetown was accused of committing a hate crime. The name of this person was Dorjee Gyadatsang and he was 24 years old. Dorjee was charged two counts of battery and assault with the intent to cause damage to the victim with the help of a dangerous weapon. This man was also charged three counts of batter and assault and violation of the civil rights for yelling anti gay slurs on two men and attacking them for no specific valid reason (splcenter.org, 2011).
