Introduction

Hepatitis is a disease in it inflammation of the liver happens. Liver is an essential organ that channels nutrients, cleans the blood, and fights and strife's infections. When any sort of damage or inflammation occurs in the liver, its functions get affected. After every five minutes, the liver filters you're all the blood supply. It plays a role in storage of minerals and vitamins. The liver's function is to help the body digest and stock up nutrients of food. In hepatitis, the body cannot make use of the food well. Hepatitis may occur due to the collection of fat due to a liver disease, medications, alcohol toxicity, and by virus. It may lead to Fibrosis and cirrhosis. Hepatitis mostly occurs due to a virus. Most familiar types of hepatitis are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C (Mushkat, 2010).

Reduced malnutrition and intake are frequently linked with hepatitis. Reduced intake occurs from nausea, fatigue, anorexia, satiety and vomiting. Malnutrition occurs from absorption, abnormal digestion, metabolism of fat, folic acid, protein, carbohydrates, the fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K), thiamin, iron, pyridoxine, copper, zinc and magnesium. A high protein high calorie diet is suggested for hepatitis. Tests for diagnosis of hepatitis include a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to the abdomen, computed tomography (CT) scan, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), ultra sound of the abdomen, and a cholangiogram. A liver biopsy might also be done to establish the causative agent (Mushkat, 2010).
