Executive Summary

The Tourism and Hospitality industry is extremely important to the United States. If you get an opportunity to work for the U.S. Tourism and Hospitality industry, it is something that you should be proud of, as it is the strongest sector of the economy. I would like to work as the Minister of Tourism. This would be a government job and will come directly under the government department and supervision. I would be reporting to the government of the state while a Tourism Manager who will directly report to me. There would be three to four Tourism Executives who will come under the supervision of the Tourism Manager.

Tourism has always been a field of my interest since I was a young child. In childhood, I liked to see people of various culture, ethnicities and colors. I always wanted to give them the best, serve them the best, as I knew they were our guests.

“Hospitality has been one of the most pervasive metaphors within tourism studies, referring in one sense to the commercial project of the tourist industry (such as hotels, catering, and tour operation) and in another sense to the social interactions between local people and tourists that is, hosts and guests” (Germann, M. & Gibson, 2007)

The Tourism and Hospitality industry is extremely important to the United States. Nevertheless, the industry does not only make jobs for the industry but it also shows the best quality food, excellent accommodation, great place for shopping and several international events that highlight it on the world. If you have got a job in the U.S. Tourism and Hospitality industry than you should be proud of it because it is the strongest sector of the economy (Morrison, 2002).

The Tourism Sector in Which I Would Like To Work

The United States has a very strong tourism sector so it requires several government officials who can closely supervise the country's tourism industry. I would like to work as the Minister of Tourism, which is a government job and requires a lot of effort and seriousness to market the country to the foreigners. On the government level, the Tourism Minister also assists those industries which work for the tourists, namely the hotel industry, the food service industry and the entertainment industry.
