Introduction

Steel can, aluminum can, tin can, or simply a can is a preserved container for storage or circulation of goods and is made of a thin metal. A variety of cans needs opening by the cutting of their end open. On the other hand, many cans have removable openings or covers. The cans have different and various content in them such as the beverages, chemicals, oil, food, and many more.

In broad terms, a can is a container designed of metal which is used for holding a fixed amount of liquid like the fruit juices, energy drinks, carbonated soft drinks, teas, alcoholic beverages, tisanes, and many more. Most of the beverage cans made of tin plated i.e. 25 percent of the international production and aluminum i.e. 75 percent of the international production (Baeyens, Brems, & Dewil, 2010). Cans are the universally and collectively accepted and adopted containers for different foods and drinks. The cans tread softly into the international as well as local markets as a replacement and alternative for the bottling of drinks and beers.

History of Cans

The process of tin canning purportedly built up by Frenchman Philippe de Girard, who came to London and utilized British dealer Peter Durand as an operator to patent his own thought in 1810. The canning idea, in view of experimental food protection work, in glass holders, was by the French creator Nicholas Appert the prior year. Durand did not seek after food and sustenance canning. However, in 1812, he sold his patent to two Englishmen, John Hall and Bryan Donkin.
