Introduction

The research proposal is written about different roles change in the human resource management practices and the objective of this proposal is to make a research report on the above mentioned topic and to improve human resource management in the BHP Billiton, an Australian based company. Companies Rae bringing technological advancement and innovations in their operations so that they can perform well all over the world. Globalization has also changes the trends of organizations and for gaining competitive edge companies are hiring more and more intelligent and capable employees in their organizations. Strategic human resource management helps the organizations to take better decisions for the development of their human resource. Organizations have to not only provide jobs to their employees but it is also their responsibility to support their employee in all aspects of life.

Background

The organizations which I have chosen for my project is BHP Billiton, which is an Anglo Australian multinational company operates in the petroleum and mining industry. Its head quarter is in Australia and the management office is in London. The BHP Billiton is serving its customers worldwide in more than 25 countries. The Company was originated in 2001 by the merger of an Australian and Anglo-Dutch Billiton company. BHP Billiton is the world's largest company in the mining industry. BHP has highest revenues among all the mining companies of the world. The company has developed its various operations based on its different customer groups such as stainless steel material, base metals, petroleum, oil and other minerals. The company has made remarkable progress in mining industry since its establishment.

Project Research Problem

The company has its offices in Australia and United Kingdom; these offices are well equipped with resources and skilled people who perform different tasks n different tasks in different departments. There is also a human resource department in both offices as they claimed that their people are the most important factor behind their success. They have developed strategies for motivating their employee's ad to provide them with the best working environments. They keep strategies through which they can develop and attract intelligent and talented people for the BHP Corporation. They have also developed some policies for their human resource management and they expect their employees to implement these policies in the organization.
