Human Terrain System

Introduction

In this study, author Christopher is focusing on anthropologists. Because the job of the anthropologist that they perform is very critical and complex while interviewing the chief of tribes and his concerns are basically focusing on the fact that if they should go on the fields of war or not. Because the anthropologist have been surrounded by the United States military since the past two yrs, so that they can study the environment where the troops are sent, that will help in improving the IQ's of Army. But the anthropologist associations have sent out reports that these anthropologists shouldn't be considered a part of law to practice their anthropology in these areas.

The author has gather specific findings that show that the hiring of these social scientists are increasing day by day because they were placing them in every regiment, marine corps, and combat brigade and recently it had been observed that approximately 500 people were hired by the Human Terrain System. Since they were being hired to do quite a tough job that required them to study certain aspects of the grounds that these Army were sent to in order to understand the situation in Afghanistan and Iraq to make the surroundings for the Army easier, lowering the disastrous factors that take place and fulfilling the needs of the community of the Army (Shay, 2009)..

Ethics of Human Terrain System

The critical point arises because according to the author these social scientists shouldn't be used on the grounds of the war, since it breaks the code of ethics of AAA. According to the AAA, the anthropologists have to take an oath while entering the program to cause no harm to the human or the environment where as the Army has seen to be misusing the information that is gathered by these Anthropologists. Because when they gather this information and provide it to the Army for the help of navigation, they use this information in order to target the enemy and kill them that results in breaking the code of ethics of the Human Terrain System (Shay, 2009).

Conflicts

There are many conflicts that arise in this case since the human terrain system denies with the fact that they are designed in a way to help the Army to kill people and improve their targets because sometimes the information that is gathered by the anthropologists is not totally controlled and the conflicts also comes up that why aren't they working on protecting people, why is only causing damage to the people or the country. And since they are using these programs to target the enemy, the HTS is indirectly known to be assisting in killing that can't be done.

According to Ben Winterseen, who just got trained for the HTS program that there are certain factors that are lacking behind this whole scene because he stated the pressure on the staff of brigade while supporting them that are under a lot of pressure when they are on ...
