Introduction

“I, Robot” is a film of science fiction and action genre, released in 2004. The movie was directed by Alex Proyas, and the screenplay was written by Jeff Vintar, Hillary Seitz, Akiva Goldsman, which is loosely based on Isaac Asimov's short-story. The lead role in the film is of Will Smith who is playing a role of Detective Del Spooner. The other supporting cast includes Bruce Greenwood, Bridget Moynahan, Chi McBride, Shia LaBeouf, James Cornwell and Alan Tudyk. This film was also nominated for Best Visual Effects for the Academy Award 2004, but did not win the award as the award goes to Spider Man 2. (Isaac, 1979)

I, Robot was released on 16 July 2004 in North America, on 22 July 2004 in Australia, on 6 August 2004 in United Kingdom and from July 2004 to October 2004, in other countries. The film was produced with a budget of USD $120 million, the film grossed $202 million in foreign markets and $144 million domestically. It made a total business $347 million worldwide. It is considered to be one of the hits with sequels coming in line. It's one of the best movies of its time and a sizeable profit earner. The movie despite having many flaws has nevertheless done great business in the world of movies and cinema. Plot Summary

2035 A.D. the movie starts from the plot set in the future of the Earth, a time where robots are commonly used as workers and assistants the human masters. The story is about a “robot-o-phobic" who is involved in the investigation of the murder of Dr. Alfred Lanning by the Chicago Police Detective Del Spooner. The robot is caught for violating the laws of the robotics which has actually been impossible. This surprises everyone because if the robots can commit a crime than they can easily control the world, as the human population has become completely dependent on these robots. A psychologist who is assisting the detective in the investigation is taken to be an expert in the robot's psyches. (Macro, 2011)

Year 2035; where everyone is too dependent on the robotic system for everything that is designed to help the human populace. However, there is one individual who believes that these robots are not of any use.
