Introduction

This paper intends to highlight the imagery of colors in the poems “Nothing Gold Can Stay" and "Spring and All”. It focuses on the reinforcement of colors over the theme of these poems. Nothing Gold Can Stay is a metaphorical poem, in which gold represents as the wealth and value. Robert Frost uses the imagery of colors for reflecting the theme of materialistic ways that cannot live forever. At contrast, “Spring and All” is a short poem with simple structure that shows nature experiencing while traveling to hospital.
