Introduction

In our modern world, we are equipped and provided with numerous sources of recreation. Ever since, the world has progressed and attained technological advancements, the mankind is furnished with numerous ways of bringing a sigh of relief in a daily stressful life. These recreations range from an outdoor physical activity to sitting at home and watch movies, shows, and sports with family and friends.

There is a widespread belief, that whatever we experience in our lives or watch has a significant impact on our psychology and behavior. The pace of reception or acquisition of those impacts rests with an individual's capability of response. Since, the psychological vulnerability is highest amongst kids; therefore they are more prone to responding to whatever they may watch or experience in their lives.

Violent Videos and TV Shows

Gone are those days when there used to be only limited channels on television and limited access to movies or video. As discussed earlier as they society has progressed with respect to technology, the media have taken a toll too. Now, an individual sitting at home has the liberty to watch over hundreds of channels on TV, and numerous videos on the Internet. This vast consumption of entertainment has compelled the media or entertainment industry to develop numerous programs on various subjects and genres, in order to cater to the ever growing demand of their audience. Amongst this wide variety, of subjects or genres is a section of utter violence and ferocity (Giles. P.213).

The violent videos or TV shows encompass the fights, hatred, bloodshed, angry disputes and several ethical concerns too. Strangely, there is a substantial ratio of the population which enjoys such violence or ferocity which is projected on the TV and Internet, and it is their demands, which compel and motivate the media to further showcase such violence over TV and Internet (Athens. P.98).

Impact on Children

In today's era, a child is exposed to television long before he is exposed to his academic life in schools. The media today has gotten in the way of the kid and quality time he spends with his family and friends. Apart from inculcating the violent behavior in children, the media and Internet in general have greatly affected the physical activities, homework, reading, outdoor activities with friends and much more (Sparks, p.114).

Negative Impacts

There are numerous dire negative impacts of the violent videos and TV shows that our children are exposed to on a daily basis. For instance, children who are more exposed to the violent acts on television are not only more likely to project an aggressive and combative behavior, but also instill an apprehension with respect to society and the dangers that await them in their surroundings (Gentile.p.305).

Impact on Pshychology and Attitude
