Introduction

Nurse Managers provides a link between healthcare disciplines, nursing personnel and workers within the healthcare organization and community. They are answerable for the environment in which clinical nursing is experienced. Participating in recruitment and selection of staff representatives also comes in the duty of nurse managers. Informatics enhances the role of nurse manager. Nurses or informaticians are also responsible to build advance data structure using data communication. Using research methodologies to broadcast new knowledge also comes in the core area of informaticians. They work for the improvement of public health using information technology.

Recording of data related to the patient's health in a digital format is called electronic health record. Besides clinical data it also includes demographic data and administrative data.

There are several benefits of electronic health record as it is convenience.

Chief information officer of a healthcare (CIO) organization is a manager of IT services for that organization.

Role of Nurse Manager

A clinical nurse or a nurse manager is accountable to the administrative level authorities for the implementation goals and standards of the healthcare organization. These nurses are also responsible for the management the daily service line. These individuals serve as a communicator between nurses and management of the healthcare organization. They also manage nursing units and time for the patient's services. They also handle young nurses for their trainings. Responsibilities of a nurse also depend on the size of healthcare organization. Clinical Nurse advocates promoting safe and efficient nursing care according to the standards. A nurse manager is also a coordinator for the defined structure of organization who serves as administrative leader (Agarwal, 2006).

They are also responsible for the implementation of mission, philosophy, vision, evidence-based practice, core values, nursing services and standards of the healthcare organization within their defined region of duty. In a healthcare organization it is also a responsibility of a nurse manager to create an environment where learning is open for everyone. They can promote quality healthcare by sharing their expertise. Nurse Managers also contribute to the planning. A nurse manager ensures the quality service for the patients.
