Introduction

The ABC Company decided to launch their new ERP project. The difficulties that they faced in the implementation of this project and the factors that lead to the success of the project are mentioned here.

Difficulty Causes

The main challenge for the ABC Company for implementing the new IT project was the selection of a capable project leader. The company needed an individual with expertise in the software operations, good leadership qualities, capable for the management of the large scale projects.

After selecting the experienced candidate the IT project of ABC Company was launched.

Within few weeks after the launch of the project, undesired difficulties slowly began to arise. The first action of the project manager was the establishment of the execution plan with the department of IT and that plan was based on particular deliverables. However, this plan created controversy because of the reason that many members from operational departments, especially accounting and finance felt barred from the outset. According to the representative of the finance department, the project was not highlighting their main problems and though its implementation was important for the company still he was not expecting the success of this project in the company.

The contradiction between the project manager and several representatives that were the part of this project team had become difficulty for the implementation of the project. Project manager continued his effort for the company in regard for the adaptation of the new It system. Whereas, his team members were having complaints from him. According to them he was imposing the imposing the on time delivery and he was not taking account of their individual considerations.
