Introduction

In this study, we will be focusing on the movie “Gung Ho” may be most of the people might not be too familiar with the movie it came a long time back in the year 1986 that represents an “American labor force” that is situated at an auto manufacturing place that had been taken over by a Japanese corporation. The central idea of the movie the cultural differences between the Japanese and Americans, especially within the styles of management. But this movie Gung Ho, is a perfect example of Intercultural and International communication and it also can be used as one of the best examples for highlighting the intercultural business relations that is highly used to teach the undergraduates and graduates business students both in Asia and the US. It can also be used to study the intercultural communication.

Social Community

When studying the intercultural communication because it portrays more than one social communities lots of differences can be seen in it. Because they are all from different backgrounds and the community they live in and the way they live their lives or deal a situation are very different. As in the movie, two social communities can be seen here one was Japanese society and other was an America society. This then results in creating differences in the characteristics of the individuals that includes attitudes, motivations, cognitions, dispositions. Because the individuals perceive information in different ways one is through the perceptual context and the other is environmental context. The individuals perceive or gather information with the help of their senses that are taste, sound, touch, sight and touch. Then they become capable of storing the information they gathered for using it later on when they need it. The social community plays an important role in the way the communication is done because it depends on the way relationships are developed between the people who are interacting with each other and the way they interact with each other, according to their social beliefs. The intercultural communication done with in the society mainly depends on the people the individual is interacting with, for example: if the individual is a school going, they will get to interact with different people who belong to different society and if the individual is a professional worker, and the company belongs to a Japanese person there will be a larger number of Japanese people they will be interacting with and that is what they will adopt.

Cultural beliefs

Roles of the individual differentiate from cultures. Even though certain things in the cultures are almost similar to other cultures. For example the relationship between the teacher and the student is the same kind in every other culture but the life of the student will be very different in Japan than to the life of the student in United States.
