Introduction

The current study is aimed upon the identification of the extent of presence of microbial flora in fresh vegetable salads that are ready to eat. It mainly undertakes to investigate the microbial flora of fresh vegetable salads that are ready- made and readily available in supermarkets. The directions for the assessment and identification of microbial flora have been conducted in the subject with reference to the ready to eat fresh vegetable salads which are easily available in the markets for the consumption of human beings.

It has been examined that various bacteria are present in the fresh vegetables salads because of the contagion of vegetables through either the manure of animals or water. The present study utilizes the primary sources in order to assess and identify the hazardousness and toxicity of the microbial flora of ready to eat fresh vegetable salads. Moreover, it conducts the examination for the pathogens and bacteria will with the help of standard plate counts. Some particular bacteria including the Enterobacteriaceae, e.coli, the Coagulase-positive staphylococci, the Clostridium perfringens, the Bacillus spp, the Bacillus cereus and the other Vibrio parahaemolyticus, salmonella and Campylobacter will be collected in the form of samples and tested. The tests will be conducted fro the X amount of samples in order to test the existence of the microbial flora and the results are based on the data obtainable from the testing of samples.

The secondary literature has been searched through various articles, journals, databases and other online publications. Besides this different websites and books have been consulted in order to undertake the secondary study on the subject at hand. The sources of this content have been listed under the reference section at the end of this report. Thus, an extensive amount of primary and secondary researches has been performed in order to provide reliability to the study and give it proper conclusion.

It is expected that the results will show the presence of bacteria such as e.coli, Enterobacteriaceae, Clostridium perfringens, Coagulase-positive staphylococci, Bacillus cereus and other Bacillus spp, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Campylobacter and salmonella in the selected samples of fresh vegetable salads. The salads made up of fresh vegetables will be tested for the presence of microbial flora in them and it is expected that they will reveal the presence of micro-organisms in it.
