Project Analysis - Project Approval

The project analysis in media is based on which area or place you are trying to portray in your research or video. For the meeting with the Executive Producer, I would have many ideas to discuss with, the first idea is, that which location and the area should I choose for my topic, whether I go for a beautiful sight seeing location which people and tourist usually like to go and visit, or, I choose a location where young and juvenile youth likes to visit, or a public place like a famous bar, restaurant, theme park, museum, etc. There can be many ideas for my video recording in Rockland N.Y. Following are the few of them; that I would like to put light on. • I would give him idea about my location, which I have, chosen according to the requirement and public demand, which people would like to visit and why would they like to visit that place.

• The other ideas could be of choosing a location that is not that famous, and if we make a video on that, then people can know and have knowledge about the new place within their town, in our case inside, Rockland N.Y.

• Idea of choosing a historic site can also be a good one, people often visit historical site and see the American heritage and a view of their culture and history is reminded by it. Portraying about a restaurant, can also be a must place to visit, as people are always attracted to the new taste, there are many new and famous restaurants which offer food and cuisines of different countries, which can also be an interesting topic to shoot.

• Whether or not you are shooting in the day time or night time, good idea can be recording in the day time when the sun is all bright and you can take as many retakes because, if we choose to record in the night times then we would not be able to record everything because of darkness and in that case we have to arrange other camera lights which can cost us more.

Now comes the 'questions to ask' portion, the hot questions could be;

• How long will I be allowed to shoot for the location?

• What budget am I allowed to use, as I have to travel the area around and search for the best location to shoot.

• How many people as helpers will be accompanying me for the visit and recording?

• What time will be best for me to record the video, as per the requirements? Whether I shoot at day time or I, shoot at night? What camera and lens would I be using for the video recording? As in some cases the requirement of camera varies according to the demand of the producer.
