iPad and its Technology Influence

Introduction

iPad a product of Apple inc. made with the vision of bridging the gap between smart phones and laptops. It is the ground braking innovation of Steve Jobs and his team in the technology of tablet computers. The only software compatible with iPad is iOS produced by Apple inc. It is a flat, rectangular device works on the technology of touch screen, with only one data connector possible. It incorporates the technology of Wi-Fi and GPRS for data connectivity.

History

Apple inc. Since its emergence in 1983 is famous for its innovative designs. However, the early decades were not as profitable as the era after 2000. Apple emerged as the most innovative company after the production of its all in one iMac machines, iPod music devices and than iPhones the greatest smart phones. The launch of iPad was announced by (late) Steve Jobs the CEO of Apple inc. on 27th January, 2010. On 3rd April, 2010 iPad was publicly available for sale in the US market and nearby locations.

iPad 2 was launched on 2nd March, 2011, which was 33% thinner than iPad 1. It was 15% lighter than iPad 1. It has a dual core apple A5 processor which the company claims is twice faster than the previous machine.

Design

It has a unique design, which incorporates a lot of intricate architecture to produce a very easy to use tablet to the user. It has a 2048 by 1536 pixel resolution in the visible screen area, to produce 3.1 million pixels, thereby, providing 264 pixels per inch and providing the user with 1 million more pixels than a HDTV. The screen is 9.7 inch long diagonally, with LED backlit support and multi touch features.

The iPad is assembled with dual camera at the front and back. The front camera is known as the Face Time High Definition Camera. The rear camera is known as the iSight camera. Face Time HD camera has 1.2 Megapixel display for still photography and 720p HD video recording capabilities. The iSight camera is unique in its formation as it is a 5 Mega pixel camera with five element camera lens, 1080 HD video recording and video stabilization. Both the cameras incorporate geotagging and auto detection. The iSight camera can be tapped for focus during still photography and video recording.

The new technology of iPad is totally wireless and plain in construction it does not involve a physical keyboard, no major connecting ports or buttons are incorporated on the tablet. The tablet incorporates built-in microphone and speaker. The three buttons on the tablet are of power on/off, volume up/ down and screen rotation lock. The tablet has a port available for its lighting connector which is compact than ordinary USB and data connecting ports of usual lap tops. The lighting port is faster and more durable. The charger also connects at this port. It has a headphone minijack available to connect external headphones and speakers to the iPad.
