Subject: Operational Gap in marketing department and ways to fulfil it.

Being the marketing manager of company, I would like to bring an issue into your consideration. Our company has shown remarkable performance and growth in the last couple of years and the credit goes to all the departments working in the organization. Since the organization is at a growth stage and in expansion mode, the workload has become twice as it was before. Because of extra workload and future challenges, we are facing some gaps in our marketing department which needs to be fulfilled at the earliest or else it can cause serious problems for us in future.

Recently, the company has launched new products in the market which have received a favourable response from the target audience. The employees working in my department are skilful and efficient to manage the work, but ever since the launch of the new products, we have felt the need of human capital which can help us in managing our work. For this reason, we want 3 people to work with us in our department as Marketing Executives.

The functions of Marketing Executive are as follows.

Establishing relationships with stakeholders

Creating opportunities for advertising, which involve placing ads in electronic and print media.

Establishing and maintaining healthier relationships with media.

Writing and executing press releases.

Preparing photo sessions related to products.

Management of marketing materials including flyers, brochures, leaflets etc.

Distribution of marketing materials internally and externally.

Maintaining databases including customer details and other necessary information.

Organizing events and attending exhibitions

Develop relationships with sponsors for assistance in publicity and funding to projects.

Carrying out customer surveys and market research to analyze customer behaviour and market trends, brand positioning and awareness and also to asses demand.

Monitoring marketing campaigns

Monitoring the activities of competitors.

Analyzing price fluctuation in market.

Contributing towards the development of marketing plans and strategies.

Managing the budget of marketing department.

Assisting in delivery of strategies which are approved.

Supporting every colleague and importantly marketing manager.

The functions of the job description are mentioned above. Marketing department plays an important role in the success of any organization. Since our organization has emerged as one of the successful company, it is now our responsibility to maintain that image and improve on it with the passage of time. We are on a growing stage and it is better not to put extra burden on the existing employees or else they will collapse. I, being the Marketing Manager, request you to create 3 job openings under the head of marketing department and with the designation of “Marketing Executive”.

Key Responsibilities for Marketing Executive

Marketing executives have to work in multiple dimensions. They have to put efforts in promoting the products and services through different marketing campaigns, events and activities. They also have to plan the marketing activities and advertise it. Besides this, they also have to assist in the development of product, its distribution and evaluation of the activities being carried out.
