Introduction

The transition from childhood to adulthood is easy in any culture and in any time. It's definitely hard passage that requires some effort. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), violence is a growing public health problem on a global level that assumes the most varied forms. Expanding the scope, we could say that it is just not a problem of health but it is multifaceted of educational, cultural, political as well as social (Geenen, 2009). In that context, one youth violence phenomenon expands worldwide at an alarming rate. The increase in drug and crime associated with youth gangs are symptoms that show the extent and depth of a problem of adaptation and integration of young people into the adult world. Youth violence indicators are expanding into the world dangerously. Today, it is one of the leading causes of children`s deaths especially the population between 5 and 14 years of age. Violence is not new in the history of human beings. The problem is complex and is being impossible to understand. The modern capitalist society has shown tremendous progress in human history (Kelly, 2010).

In the very complex urban societies, a large number of young people face lack of educational as well as career prospects. This leads them to participate in non-productive activities.Gangs are very typical of adolescence: peer groups that provide identity and self-affirmation to humans in a time when identities are being defined. Therefore, with a broad view of the problem regarding youth or human as a whole, it is irrelevant considering repressive actions against these groups. There are many reasons to effectively utilize intervention projects in order to solve social problems. In this regard, the available knowledge suggests that prevention strategies should be well-designed and carefully implemented, which can have a significant impact on the problems of youth gangs and youth violence.

Background

The term gang is normally used to designate a group of teenagers or young people who behave abnormally, reaching to violence and crime. Friendships are more frequent and intense in girls, teenagers or youth gangs are a male phenomenon. In view of the various researches; the composition of the gang for ages are: 7% are composed of boys under the age of twelve years, 15% of adolescents from twelve to fourteen years old, 38% are members of fourteen to sixteen years, and 40% are composed of youth of eighteen years or more (Geenen, 2009). The youth gang presents itself as a much closed group with great continuity, organization and discipline. The solidarity among its members is much higher than in groups because it is fundamental to achieve success. This precocity in criminal conduct or anti-social intentional is growing to the point that more and more cases arise in the third childhood or school age.
