Interview

In the interview that I conducted, I decided to interrogate Senior Inspector George David regarding general information and the experiences that he has had during his job. Our conversation took place in the square where a great amount of tourists were present. The first question that clicked in my mind was to interrogate about the most common crimes that take place in the region. When it was asked about listing the main reasons behind the occurrence of crime, Officer George David replied that there are number of crimes that are prevailing in the society due to lack of monitoring and control checks. The implication of freedom has been misunderstood by the people who have even a little inclination towards criminal attitude. The people have started using freedom as their shield against the crimes. We need to educate them that there is difference between freedom allocation and keeping the required checks. The officer was asked about his views about the impact of such crimes on tourism industry. He said that the impact is indeed big and serious in nature. This has really affected the industry and has shown profound decline or careful decision making among the tourists. They are already scared of frequent terrorists attacks that can occur anywhere, the tourists do not want to bear any kind of tension. As a police officer even individual roles is imperative to maintain the law and governance order. The public safety is certainly a prime focus for the policemen and it should be well-tailored with improved educational interventions. The people and police should together take part in making this world a better place to live in.

The process of cheating with the foreigners who come to visit the place was going on, but the police did not intervene in this process, it is a private matter of buyers and sellers. It was also told by the Officer David that the visitors also have to bear higher transport fares. Another interesting question was asked by me that where in New York is it possible to buy illegal drugs? Is this a big problem between the police and the citizens?

The officer replied that drugs are sold illegally in a number of places, but he did not disclose the places, and the police is struggling with this (Schmalleger, 2013). Of particular danger in the spread of drug use among the youth of the country. On the other hand, if a foreigner comes to smoking marijuana, we will detain and immediately inform about it in his embassy. Our conversation was interrupted by a call on the radio from the Control Room. This was a brief interview that was conducted with Senior Officer George David that provided brief but important information about the crimes being reported within the country.

Observation

It turned out to be a coincidence that the observation became the continuation of the interview session with Senior Officer George David. The observation began with the action that Officer David said goodbye to me, got into the car ...
