Abstract

This proposal speaks about the International Trade Contracts in countries which violate human rights and recommendations to protect that contracts. In order to study this important issue, it is necessary to first understand the value of human rights. This study includes the relationship between the international trade and human rights and the influence of international trade on human rights. At last, the recommendations to solve the problem are given.

Introduction

The Violation of human rights is a world wide issue. Economic study is a huge area of subject. It covers all matters regarding human rights for example economic rights, cultural rights, labor rights, political and civil rights, rights of a clean environment and a lot more (Sykes, 2003). The economic questions that can be asked about each right is wide ranging. Before explaining the economics of human rights, the association of international trade and human rights should be discussed. First of all the stress is on the WTO critics analytical arguments who says that the progress of World Trade Organization is on the other hand, a danger to human rights. These arguments are (Cottier, et al. 2003).

The entrance of the nations that do not follow human rights destroy the ways for valuable approval to discourage such breach.

Open trade scenario cause production to go to those areas where environmental conditions are not appropriate and as a result of which degradation or loss of the product occurs. Similarly, the open trade causes competition among traders and control over local regulatory matters get reduced, and matters such as standards of social welfare, environmental standards, and legislation of worker legislation come underneath the influence of competition.

Open trade enhance the unequal income distribution.

These all arguments should be remain in consideration. According to different studies, an open trading system generally improve many concerns that are in favor of human rights.

Human Rights

It is well known that economists occasionally agree with each other's suggestions and arguments. Still there is one point on which almost all economists do agree-liberalization rises living standards of people collectively. According to Paul Samuelson “There is essentially only one argument for free trade or freer trade, but it is an exceedingly powerful one, namely: Free trade promotes a mutually profitable division of labor, greatly enhances the potential real national product of all nations, and makes possible higher standards of living all over the globe.” (Brazelton, 1977). The main plan of World Trade Organization is trade liberalization. As the family of members of World trade organization increasing day by day and the hurdles in trade are minimizing time to time, so there is an increasing chance of national product of the member nations. This is not a castle built in an air theory; different studies suggest that the open trade scenario causes higher economic growth rate (Sachs & Warner, 1995).
