Introduction

In order to be successful in the competitive markets and keep moving with the fast paced world progressing rapidly, it is immensely important that all the individuals involved in the businesses have a proper direction to move. The direction that they need to progress is given to them by their heads. The path described by the organizational heads and the way they lead the subordinates is of immense importance as it not only affects the motivation level of the employees but also impacts the entire culture prevailing in an organization. In order to understand how the various leadership styles executed by the organizational heads impact an organizations culture, a comparison must be made between organizations. For this purpose, a comparison of Samsung Corporation and Apple INC is being made in order to fully understand the impact of various Leadership styles on an organization's culture.

Problem Statement

In order to survive the cut throat competition prevailing the markets in this era, it is immensely important that an organization comprehensively progresses in the right direction. It is the culture of an organization that helps it to remain viable in face of uncertainties and achieve its desired goals. The organizational culture deals with the human resource of an organization, the most important determinant of an organizations success and failure. It impacts the level of motivation and satisfaction of the employees which in turn impacts their productivity. It impacts how the employees work, interact and respond to various factors. The organizational culture can be build, influenced or changed in order to bring an organization in alignment to its mission and values. The responsibility of this building, influencing and changing of an organization's culture to bring about the required results solely lies with the organizations leaders. It is also of immense importance when major changes are made in the structure of an organization such as in times of mergers and acquisitions. In such instances different leadership styles implied by the organizational heads determine the impact of such situations on the employees. Appropriate leadership styles would help to remove the misperceptions the employees have for such things as well as helps them to mould themselves according to the changing environment. Leadership styles are different and must be adopted according to the situation faced by an organization. Appropriate leadership styles would help an organization to remain viable and thrive even in if uncertainties are faced. However, any inappropriate leadership style would hinder an organizations performance and hamper its ability to sustain the competition. Therefore, it is immensely important to have a thorough understanding of what an organizations culture is and how it is impacted by the various leadership styles adopted by the leaders of the organizations.
