Dear Mr. President of the United States of America,

My name is Amila Dissanayake, and I am a U.S. born inhabitant living in Costa Mesa, California. I am writing this letter to plea for help from the chief acting authority of the United States. The core concern of this request is my family, consisting of my mother and father, who are in consideration for being deported. We have struggled a lot to come to this country; however, under the double-dealing of some spurious consultants, my family got ensnared into legal proceedings. I am, along with my family, trying at our levels best to fight against such deportation instructions.

I am a 19-year-old male of Sri Lankan, who was born and raised in Southern California. I am a student, perusing Aerospace Engineering at California State University - San Diego. I owe the endowment of my education to two most wonderful people of my life. My parents have immigrated to this country 24 years ago, in 1989, to seek an overall better life, and an opportunity to raise their child in the land of opportunity. As I was born, my parents were encouraged to educate me, in order to give their only child an even better chance of a successful life than they could have.

Currently, both of my parents are facing deportation from the U.S. Immigration and Customs. My father left Sri Lanka to save himself from a terrorist group, which was threatening his life. He had hoped to return to Sri Lanka, but the political situation in Sri Lanka continued to deteriorate; thus, he had decided to apply for asylum in the United States.
