This paper intends to make a socio-cultural analysis on the short story “Bad neighbors” (Jones E.P. pp. 1). The story focuses on the families residing in the most educated area of Washington D.C. While reading the story, you will find that irrespective of being highly educated and socially sophisticated, people practiced cultural bias. The main point is that living with cross cultural neighbors, who come from a different culture, race, or religion, affects our life. As people from different countries or culture get to live with each other, they try to impose their own cultural rules on the others, without taking other's cultural perspectives into consideration. We discuss that how the writer has illustrated about the issues, the family had to face when they started to live at a place with entirely different culture, the place with a “good” neighborhood.
