Introduction

Macbeth is one of the most popular dramas of Shakespeare and also one of the shortest. It was the last of the four great tragedies of Shakespeare; the other three are Hamlet, Othello and King Lear. The drama was first performed in 1606 and tells the story of the war hero Macbeth, the witches' prophesies of three one day get that once he will be king of Scotland. Macbeth is a Scottish army general who is faithful to his king and is a good person; he contributed winning the war against the king of Norway and decorated. Audience can clearly see a profound change in his character goes from being a good man and faithful to be a cruel and ruthless tyrant hated and betrayed by all. This change in Macbeth's personality is not abrupt, it came gradually. It all started when his wife urged him to kill the king and conquer the throne. Lady Macbeth's character is psychologically more nuanced, it is unconsciously evil, but at the same time fragile and compassionate. She is pushing Macbeth, indolent character in itself, to the series of heinous crimes that took him to the throne. Lady Macbeth is a solid and deceitful character; she convinced Macbeth in some modes to manage the misdeeds that he pledged and be the way that he was. She supplemented substantially to his downfall, and in the end she did not get anything out of being bad except heartbreak, disarray, and frustration.
