Introduction

There are several sources that assert that history always has a significant impact on the present and future of nations. The incidents in history reflect the concerns that were encountered and the approaches that were adapted to cope with the concerns. The effectiveness of the approaches adapted to resolve the concerns are the tactics to ensure pleasing future. Therefore, this essay aims to compare and contrast the historical incidents prescribed in the book 'World Civilizations: The Global Experience'. The paper will analyze several historical incidents prescribed in the book and explore the similarities and differences in the incidents by formulating pairs of the incidents for comparison.

Classical Civilization in China vs. Classical Civilization in India

The era of classical civilization in China was acknowledged from 1000 B.C.E. till the fifth century C.E. it can be illustrated that the decline of the river-valley cultures played a significant role in inception of classical civilization in China. The classical civilization was not only acknowledged in China but also other nations. There were several civilizations arising in China in the era, and striving to prove their worth to the world. China was one of the countries with largest population; hence, the classical civilization in the country influenced social, political and economic ground, conceptions and standards followed by the country. The classical civilization in China accompanied several achievements concerned with the river-valley societies (Stearns, Adas, Schwartz, Gilbert, 2007).

The government of China in the respective era enhanced its military services and weaponry in order to enhance its defense system. In addition, the improvements in political system, agricultural sector, technology and civilian life were also intact.
