Data Elements

The main components of a process are:

Inputs: the inputs are necessary for the operation of the process;

Outputs are Products and information generated by the process;

Operating procedures: are the various operations, structured logic and preconceived manner, to ensure the transformation of inputs into outputs;

Control criteria: are the elements of assessment standards based on pre-established performance, allowing the measurement of results and control by managers of the process

Human resources: are the people involved in the various stages of operation of the process;

Infrastructure: Are material resources that create the basic conditions for the operation of the process, such as facilities, equipment, materials consumption etc.

Technology: the technological resources are employed, including both physical resources (computers, machines etc..), As techniques and software.

Making use of the systemic approach, a process can be understood as a particular type of system that can be found in organizations. In some situations there is an almost complete overlap between a process and system information. In fact, operation of any process is based on one or more information systems, as simple and informal as they are. At the same time, supply and operation of an information system depend on one or more specific processes.

The systemic approach also helps to understand the processes and to develop analytical skills to identify the various levels of relationship of a process.
