Managing Business Facilities

Introduction

An educational college and university share a site with each other, and while they are acting independently some buildings and the facilities to support these are shared. The facilities of management are subject to a memorandum of understanding between the two organizations. The facilities which are shared by the college and university include porter-age and janitorial support, cleaning services, front office and reception activities, and security within and around the buildings, car parking management, room allocations and space planning. The facilities manager has to face issues while managing the facilities of college and university, and these issues create problems in conducting their roles. This is because the facilities manager has to sit on a joint committee consisting of both college and university senior managers and academics

As the facilities manager of college and university, I have made this report which consists of the problems and issues that a facilities manager can face while fulfilling his duty. These issues are creating problems while I am fulfilling my responsibility in the college and university, as I have to collectively look after the shared facilities by both, and report to the senior managers and academics of the college as well as of the university.
