This section will inoculate the person who reads with the required information in order to understand the jargon of the Research. This chapter tends to focus on the aims and objectives of the research along with the other notions, which helps reader to decipher the functioning of the research.

Background

Addax Petroleum is a subsidiary firm named after an antelope in the Saharan afriaca and she is a member of the SINOPEC group which is the largest oil refiner in Asia, one of the biggest oil and gas manufacturers in China and the third leading group in the world. Addax has its major capital in Geneva (Switzerland) and other branches in Nigeria Cameroon, and other West African countries. Thus for the purpose of this study, research would be based on employee risk management in Addax Petroleum Cameroon (Yukl 2008, pp. 708-722). The debate relating to risk management practices have been in place for quite some time now. The academic debates have inculcated the benefits relating to the topic however, it has now gone beyond the notion of benefits. Despite of the attached advantages, risk management is still an alien concept when it comes to practicing it, even in the multi-faceted organizations.

Previous researches in this regard have highlighted the fact that firms do not appreciate the risk when it comes to outsourcing. Where some experts have rendered great fruits with it, simultaneously it also has some negative connotations attached with it. Some tends to see it as an administrative issue whereas; others portray it as a skill in its own manner. Thus, the organizations may lack the skill requires to perform the task as per the required manner. Plus, the resulting issues have not been inculcated in previous studies to formulate into one frame or theory.
