Marginalization of Indigenous People: The Twa tribe

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to bring forward the reasons that eventually became the cause of extinction of Twa tribe. Emphasis on the social marginalization and problems related to it will be made with respect to Twa tribe and other indigenous tribes that are facing the same problems. The proposal will discuss the imperative measurements that could help these tribes safeguard the integrity and veracity. Moreover, analysis over social and cultural aptitude influence on the population of the tribe will be done. The implementation of social ecosystems, micro and mezzo intervention methods would be analyzed on such tribes that face social, cultural and political demarcation within the country. The research paper would be based on the assessments and analytical worldview about the Twa tribe (Anderson, 2004) (Anderson, 2004).

Marginalization of Indigenous People: The Twa tribe

Introduction

21st century is the era of the modern age where the social and cultural bridge between different nations has been overshadowed by globalization and advancement of science and technology (Anderson, 2004) (Anderson, 2004).

But in the midst of these progression and advancement there are still some ethnic groups left that confronts political, social and cultural demarcation. Amongst them is Twa tribe, in Great Lake region of Africa, which is at high risk of marginalization. This discrimination has pushed the tribe to disperse into different regions where they have used foreign nationality as an alibi to protect their identity.

Twa, the forgotten people is a small ethnic group that makes up 1% of the population in Central Africa near Great Lake. As an ethnic marginal, they have been struggling long for the protection and recognition in the global organizations. According to the United Nations survey, the population of Twa has experienced a precipitous fall. This has threatened the extinction of the tribe that is believed to deteriorate in coming years.

Scope of the Problem

Twa people have been struggling hard for the recognition and protection of its tribe and integrity. The problems that they are facing in light of education, healthcare and other basic needs are not being addressed properly to the organization that could help them improve. Therefore, it has resulted in drastic fall of the population (Ballard, 2005) (Ballard, 2005).

Thesis Statement

Marginalization of Twa tribe has endangered the integrity and resulted in the annihilation of the indigenous pygmy people (Ballard, 2005) (Ballard, 2005).

Purpose of the Study

The research is based on the descriptive analysis on Twa tribe and the reasons that have paved ways for its marginalization in the region. The main focus would revolve around the tribe's social and cultural demarcation and methods that could help improve the issues they confront.

Aims and Objectives

• The primary aim of the research is to bring forward the issues that minor ethnic groups could be facing in the name of law power and land.
