The habit of Chewing gums has increased greatly in the last few years. In the United States of America, 30 companies are currently in the business of chewing gum production. According to the records, approximately 100,000 tons of chewing gum is consumed every year (Wrigley, 2012).

Where the chewing gums help in relaxing mind and providing a soothing taste to mouth, they can also cause stains and cleanliness issues in the neighborhood. Chewing litter cleaning costs millions of dollars to the Government every year. In order to ensure the proper disposal of chewing gums and a clean & environment friendly neighborhood, Community Project is launching chewing gum bins for a clean and healthy environment.

Primary Characteristics

The key characteristics of the chewing gum bin would include:

Attractive design in accordance with the customer segment's requirement such as formal and professional for offices or funny and amusing for public places.

Sponsor's advertisements or City Cleanliness public messages on top to cause interest.

Availability at majority of public and private places to guarantee solution from chewing gum litter and make places pleasing, hygienic and pleasant.

Use of environment friendly plastic to ensure that the bin does not cause pollution issues.

The inner side of the chewing gum bin would consist of hygienic and reusable cartridges that could hold many pieces of chewed gum. This would also ensure that the chewing gum litter can be easily removed and recycled for the production of by-products. Chewed gums collected in the bins can also be used to produce toys or more chewing gum bins (Gumdropbin, n.d.).

Service Component
