Methods of Quadratic Model

There are two methods of solving the quadratic equations, these are

By inspection, that is not for every equation

By using the quadratic formula

Every method had its own preference. For instance

X^2-x=20

Before starting any of the above methods there is need of using the addition and also the subtraction in order to get everything on one side of the equal's signs.

X^2-x=20

X^2-x-20=0

Inspection Method

X^2-x-20=0

Factorizing the equation in following format

(ax+c)(bx+d)=0

It seems complicated but actually it is not really, multiplying out the parentheses

abx^2 + bcx+adx+cd=0

(ax+c)(bx+d)=0

And now collecting the x's

Abx^2+x(bc+ad)+cd=0

X^2-x-20=0

Let ab=1

If the coefficient of x: -1=c+d

Constant -20=cd

-5+4=-1, -4*4=-20
