Introduction

Metrosexual is a termed derived from metropolitan and heterosexual, the term was first used in 1994 in order to describe a man who is meticulous about his appearance and grooming, someone who spends a considerate amount of time and money on ameliorating their appearance. The term Metrosexual is closely linked with the term homosexual in order to differentiate between heterosexuals and homosexuals. The term was originated by Mark Simpson in 1994; however it wasn't until 2000 that the term gained global publicity. In 2002 Mark Simpson claimed David Beckam was a Metrosexual and Simpson stated that a typical Metrosexual is a man with money who is in easy reach of the metropolis, where all the fancy shops and hairdressers are located. He might be straight, homosexual or bisexual. A Metrosexual has taken himself as the object of his love and pleasure. Many advertising agencies have adopted this term(Alexander,2012).
