Introduction

Midnight Run is an action comedy movie of America which was made in 1988 by Martin Brest. The movie comprised of Robert De Niro, Yaphet Kotto, Charles Gordin, John Ashton, Joe Pantoliano, Dennis Farina and Philip Baker Hall as the prime cast of the movie. The film was followed by sequels which were carried in TV movies.

Plot

The plot of the movie was of such a kind where De Niro portrayed Bounty hunter Jack Walsh who has been given the task to bring Jonathan Mardukas known as The Duke portrayed by Charles Gordin back to Los Angeles. If he fails to bring the duke back in the time period of five days then Eddie Moscone will be default. Eddie Moscone suggests that the task is an easy one and it is named as midnight run. Jack Walsh demands a sum of $ 100, 000 for the task. Alonzo Molley played by Yaphet Kotto who is an FBI agent approaches Jack to bring The Duke to him as a witness against Serrano. In New York at the Kennedy airport henchman of Serrano namely Tony and Joey played by Forney and Miranda respectively offer Jack a similar sum of money to handover The Duke to them.

When Jack catches The Duke and boards in an airplane he is informed that the Duke has a problem that he can't travel by plane, Jack chooses railway as the suitable option to take his catch to Eddie. As Jack fails to reaching time to Eddie, he assigns another bounty hunter Marvin Dorfler played by Ashton to catch them both and bring them back to him. Dorfler is the biggest adversary of Jack in the profession of bounty hunters. On the other hand the FBI and Serrano are tapping Eddie's phone calls and have different plans.

Discussion

The Duke works as an accountant and fraud $15 million from Las Vegas from Jimmy Serrano who is a gangster and duke skipped bail. The bounty bondsman for the Duke is Eddie Moscone who will be default if the Duke doesn't returns to Las Vegas and hires bounty hunter Jack Walsh to bring him back. Jack demands a price of $100,000 to bring the duke back else Eddie will be default for $450,000 and will be bankrupt.

The FBI who is represented by agent Alonzo Mosley wants to arrest the duke as it will tighten their grip against Serrano. Mosley warns Jack to stay away from the task but Jack ignores as he has already committed. Serrano is informed that the Duke has access upon his financial transactions and can lead Serrano to jail because of his conviction.

Jack catches The Duke in Manhattan and boards a plane to take him back to Las Vegas where he is informed that Duke has flight fear and cannot board the flight.
