Introduction

Many sociologists have studied the work to find out what motivated us. It appeared that we were driven by our needs, but none of the theories could say precisely what factors were foremost in motivating the individual to work. We can see these theories as inventories rather than as models to be applied as such, since their application is highly dependent on personalities, appropriate guidance in the company. It is important to look at what is being done in companies to motivate employees to realize the reality or not theories. The first element of motivation (which has been many developments in the classics) is, of course, compensation. However, it is not enough experience quickly showed its limits. Other elements are crucial in the motivation of the individual and therefore his involvement.

Motivation is a spur of the forces of the unconscious and subconscious behaviors or undesirable results. Its importance in management is recognized since the 1920s, but there is much interest in studies of the human aspects of management. In theories of motivation discussed the factors that create a desire to be more productive. In some cases also those which are described have the opposite effect.

Motivation is the expression of the reasons why an individual to a particular action. From the point of view of psychology can be defined as the set of dynamic factors with a given origin that push the behavior of an individual to a given destination, according to this view, every act that is done without motivation is likely to fail.

Motivation plays two main functions: activate and direct specific behaviors. In the first case, reference is made to the energy component of activation of motivation. In the second case, reference is made to the directional component of orientation.

In this paper, we are going to discuss some of the motivational techniques and methods to motivate the employees while downsizing from a department. Being the manager and leader of a team, I will be implementing those techniques and methods to motivate my team members while downsizing from the department.

Job Rotation

Job rotation is a form of work organization that much interest, both in managers than among workers. However, current knowledge does not allow understand all the consequences of this practice. Despite uncertainties about its effects, rotation is often recommended to reduce the monotony of work and musculoskeletal disorders skeletal. Job rotation also interested because many managers think it promotes flexibility and facilitates the management of absenteeism and staff turnover. However, it also involves some disadvantages, such as learning difficulties, the imbalance of constraints from one position to another and difficulty of adapting the positions of all persons involved (Vohs 2004, 574-589).
