Introduction

The concept of Globalization has allowed various companies throughout the world to outsource their work in other countries. This has initiated the concept of multinational organizations. With the help of numerous technological progresses in the past few years, the people from different cultures and countries are now able to establish communication on a daily basis. However, even with the all the possible advantages, there are still various conflicts in communication which includes the problems of language barriers, time differences, difference in perceptions as well as the geographical distances. These problems become the source of major conflicts in the multinationals, where the employees from one country are trying to communicate the employee of the other country. This creates complications when the clients are promised particular deadlines. The Multinational organizations face various issues including logistical and time zone related challenges. Various theorists urge the multinationals to focus more on the communication across culture with the organization. Thus, it becomes of crucial importance to understand the global and domestic management (Adler, 2002, pp. 16).

Since organizations do not have enough time, energy or resources to fly its representatives to different countries to communicate with their employees, it concentrates on the creation of virtual teams. These teams include people belonging to various cultures who work together. They may never meet face to face, but they establish an effective means of communication. Thus, teamwork as well as collaboration are both allowed with the advancements in technology (Solomon & Schell, 2009, pp. 269). To work in a global virtual team brings in a lot of difficulties as various people from different cultures possess different ideas to enhance collaboration. Thus, the organizations that look to internationalize their operations need to develop an understanding on how to cope up with issues relational to national, regional or local customs due to the changes in cultures (Jones, G. 2010, pp. 10). If not understood properly, the differences in cultures can create a lot of communication issues.
