Introduction

With an increase in the overall population of the world, we have seen a sudden increase in the M.S.W (municipal solid waste), which is our trash. A M.S.W may contain wastes such as food, containers in organic wastes etc. the municipal solid waste does not take in to account the industrial waste. The collection of this waste is done by the municipality of the area.

Discussion

Earlier there were no ways to get rid of the m.s.w which means it was not treated at all and neither was it being treated. There were only a limited ways to get rid of the waste which was, dumping, recycling, burning and future garbage. Through strict research and analysis, it has been found that dumping has always been the most crucial form of getting rid of the waste. During the bronze age, people used to cover trash by clay at their homes, and because of this the roofs had to be adjusted upwards. Despite the trash being covered with clay, a majority of the trash was being thrown on the streets because not all the trash could be kept and covered by clay at home. As the population increased, the problem of garbage grew with concern as people used to throw garbage openly on the streets which would give birth to bacteria.

When United states was formed a majority of the population used to live in farms. Until the last 60 years, 30% of the American citizens were not residing in the cities, but, today, only a minute percentage of the American citizens live at the farms.
