My Career

Introduction

I would like to pursue my career with the radiology and the radiological techniques. Radiology is a medical specialty in the field of diagnosing imaging. However, it diagnoses the image to both diagnose and treat the disease, captured on the image within the human body (DiSantis, a.1). Radiologist use a pool of imagining technologies, which includes X-ray, CT scans, nuclear image, position emission tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, etc. use to identify and diagnose the disorder in the patient and also for the treatment (Mehta, Pp. 210-254).

The radiologist is a type of doctor, though it takes many successive years of training. The training of the radiologist starts with the high school. When I was in high school, the field of radiology attracts me because I think it is the base of every diagnosis (Gurley, Pp. 167-198). The doctors before starting the treatment refer radiologist and their treatment are based on the results of it. Thus, it attracts me a lot, and I took advance math and science classes because it makes the understanding of the future courses easier. Although, it does not make any difference for those who do not take this course (DiSantis, a.1).

Moreover, there are three options available to pursue the career as a radiology tech, a certificate program, two year associate degree and a four years bachelor's degree (DiSantis, a.1). It depends on the prior knowledge and information of an individual about the medical terminologies, technologies, medical experience, etc.

The extensive training program is offered by most schools and students are provided with valuable patient contact experience. Many radiological technology programs are now available which offers some coding of the medical office courses, which helps in the job to utilize skills in practice.

Good communication skills and a predictable nature are necessary for the radiologist. They should be professional in a journal with high ethical values. Physical strength is also needed because sometimes the patient is needed to be lift and position (DiSantis, a.1). Status

The current status of the Radiology Information System has developed more in the last 20 years. It is one of the important and the most specialized area of the medical informatics. There is no alternate cost effective system to provide the detail information of the different problems. In the past years, the technology advancement along with the awareness of the patients and the increment in the diagnosis, have all sum up in the advancement of the field of the radiology (Gurley, Pp. 167-198). The medical imagining has become necessary as it now plays an important and the major role in the patient diagnosis. The advancement of this field can be seen by the movement from the clinical imaging views to the production of many different types of images (Mehta, Pp. 210-254). The diagnosis is however, the result of the critical analysis and decision making power of the radiologist's knowledge and experience.
