Introduction

My heart will go on is a song sung by the famous singer Celine Dion for the movie Titanic which was directed by James Cameron. In addition to this, Horner has been nominated three times for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards. He has also composed music for films that have so far been the top two highest grossing movies of all time, namely “Titanic” and “Avatar”. When James Horner first composed the song for Titanic, both James Cameron and Celine Dion were against doing it. James Cameron thought that the song would give his movie a commercial touch and that he would be criticized for it. However, after constant insistence from Horner, James Cameron agreed to include the song in his movie. Celine Dion, on the other hand, had to be convinced by her husband to even sing the demo song which later on influenced her to sing the entire song (Bergfelder & Street, 2004).
