Introduction

The National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), initiated in the year 1972, is currently administered by the Bureau of Justice Statistics. The basis of initiation of this project was due to the realization that many crimes taking place in the country were not reported nor recorded to the police. Every year, NCVS is responsible to obtain data from approximately 76,000 households national representatives, which comprise approximately 135,300 people, based on characteristics, frequency, and post-events of criminal victimization (www.bjs.gov).
