Turner contribution to Political Anthropology (1966) was the essay "Ritual Aspects of Conflict Control in African Micropolitics. Turner's political anthropology, and more importantly his defining work in ritual, was heavily influenced by Gluckman's "Manchester School. His emphasis on ritual as a means for social transformation has a clear connection to Gluckman's emphasis on social processes.
