Abstract

Psychology is one of the most intellectually stimulating and dynamic disciplines of study, it is connected to other subject fields such as psychiatry, sociology and now even business disciplines require psychological information to predict buying behavior patterns and consumer preferences. The study of the affects of drugs on the human brain is known as psychopharmacology. Psychology plays a part in determining behavioral biology determining what influences the behavior patterns in humans, sleeping patterns, dreaming etc. Genetics are hereditary factors that influence the behavior or psychological process of a particular individual (Kimble & Colman 1995). This research will provide insight over the hypothetic concept of Neurogenesis in the adult human brain and mammals including concepts revolving around neurological concepts with an overview of the usage of drugs providing a study of its consumption for recreational purposes as well as the treatment of psychological disorders.

Neurogenesis & Drugs

Introduction

Neurogenesis is typically the growth of new neurons in the adult human brain, it revolves around the brain stem cell research, there have been many theories to validate the activity of neuronal activity in the human brain, but yet there has to be more significant results to accept the notion. Nerve repair, brain tissue regeneration, enhancing in neuronal activity resulting in the growth of neurons is yet to be characterized as certainty. Hence neurogenesis in theory is supposedly a concept which can be attained and results can be positive, but in twenty thirteen there are only slight indications of its visibility, the procedures are daunting, it is yet to be proven and evolve, in the years to come.

Discussion

The reduction of neurons is conceived to be irreparable till now in the human brain of fully grown adult according to stem cell research, neurons that have decayed or died cannot regenerate under any circumstances. Due to this deficiency the human brain does not have the capability to generate new neurons and cell replacement which largely contributes to the reasons why brain tissue regeneration is not possible and is one of the major causes of impairment and neurological diseases. The growth of neurons is defined into specific regions of the brain, which is only for limited developmental period that neurons can generate. Non human specimens have shown signs of neuronal activity till the prenatal and adult period which is found in sub ventricular zone where neuronal marker proteins are expressed (Eriksson, 1998).

The hippocampus and sub ventricular zone are the regions where the maturation and range of neurons are present in the adult brain. Analyzing processes are characterized due to activities of neurons and environmental factors; they play a vital role in the neuronal functionality in the human brain such as sleeping patterns, memory and learning behavior (Duman, 2001). Human beings belong to a common heritage each individual uses twenty three chromosomes from each parent, defining the passage of neuronal genetics. (Kimble & Colman 1995).
