Introduction

United States of America is facing severe health issues in almost all of its states, however, obesity in school going children is considered as the foremost severe health crises that the country is facing. Percentage of this disease has phenomenally increased in this century mainly because of insufficient intake of heavy foods, and insufficient digest of the food intake. There are several factors such as (genetic, psychological, and environmental condition of the country) are primarily responsible for this increase of this disease in children. Children suffering from obesity also face other severe health problems including physical problems, psychological problems, and various others (Curtis, Stapleton & James, 2011).

Among other health problems, Obesity is being described as major health crisis among children of the Unites states of America. The common phenomena of Obesity are described as the difference of body weight at a particular height is considered as normal or else that individual is considered as overweight or obese. Prevailing disease of obesity in children is becoming the most concern able issue for the country(Johnston, Moreno, El-Mubasher, Gallagher, Tyler & Woehler, 2013). Obesity is generally measured by the use of common measure known as Body mass index (BMI) that is used to measure the weight of the body in proportion to its height, further (BMI) is also used to identify the cardiovascular risk that faced by the individual facing problem of Obesity

Obesity in children of years 2 and 19 years with BMI is within 95th percentile at prepared in the growth chart. However, categorization of obesity in school going children is entirely dependent of the overall body composition of the child, mainly because body composition of child is different at different age, and of different gender. This report will focus on the impact of obesity on children health, and strategies that will be implemented in the reduction of this disease.

Discussion

Health authorities of the Unites States of America has developed numerous policies for the reduction and prevention of obesity in entire country, but in spite of these efforts the authorities are not able to bring positive change in the reduction of these disease. According to the report of National health center from the year 2008-2012 the percentage of obese children along the age group of 2-19, that is a normal school going age is 16.9 percent. This report also identify the increase in the level of obesity from 5 percent to more than 10 percent in children belonging to 2-5 years particularly girls, whereas in children of above ten the obesity has increased from 8 percent to 18.2 percent. (Mansfield & Doutre, 2011).

Moreover, research conducted by health people has termed obesity as the prime and devastating disease that is constantly increasing in the school-going children. In addition, with increased presence of obesity has a severe impact on the morbidity and mortality aspects of the adult life of the children.
