The paper discusses the major issues pertaining to various issues that an event planning business might confront with due to lack of operational skills, research and adequate homework and the necessity of personal indulgement with the event otherwise the events can be a fiasco and lead the business to negative publicity and closure. Operations management is one of the core areas of organization which is concerned with designing and controlling of the overall production process. It also helps organizations to redesign their business operations for the production of goods and services offered by them. The aim of operations management is to utilize the resources in an efficient manner in order to produce quality products and services which could ultimately meet the requirements of the customers. The process involves converting inputs (such as raw materials, labour, and energy) into outputs. In today's competitive business environment, there are a variety of operations that are involved in the area of operations management within an organization (Foster, 2011). The following discussion is focused towards discussing all the related and important aspects of quality control and planning within the area of operations management. The discussion will be relating to the lack of coordination and planning between the event management team, client and the hotel management.
