The corporation has its head office in Bradford which is where the company formed. William Morrison began with an egg and butter booth in Rawdon marketplace in the middle of Bradford.

His son took over the company in 1952 and in 1958 set up a small structure, which was the original self service shop in Bradford and the opening with prices noticeable on the commodities. Three years afterwards, the corporation opened its first hypermarket, in addition in Bradford. Morrisons has also provides petrol filling stations, dry cleaning and photo processing services.

Because of the high volume nature of Morrisons operations, the amount of customization is quite redistricted as well as standardized. For instance, when customer order food in the restaurant, Morrisons provides a standardised option of ordering food either peas or baked beans as an additional meal

Variety

Morrisons has offered a wide range of products to its customers that include 30,000 to 35,000 products. While this would be regard as high variety of products when it's compared to Lidl, that offered just 1,000 product lines, in reality Morrisons have average process of variety because of its inadequate supplies of its food item that are accessible to its customers. For instance, in Morrisons standardized, product line variety of fish on display is limited. Which means that, Morrisons not flexible and provides low variety the reason for this is because they cannot provide and offer the individual demands of customer.
