Opportunity Analysis for starting Nonprofit Organization for Single Fathers

Introduction

Since the society is undergoing rapid changes, there has been a high role of single fathers in raising their children. Taking a closer look at developed societies like America reveals that, cases of single fathers raising their children has increased to a great extent. Earlier, there used to be a large number of single mothers that raised their children. But considering the context of today's society, there has been an increased prominence of single fathers in raising their children. Single fathers need a high degree of social assistance and thus nonprofit organizations need to cater to this aspect (Anon, 2013).

As far as the field of social work is concerned, the cases of single fathers raising their children have become quite common. We would look to come up with a nonprofit that singularly addresses the concerns faced by single fathers. Nonprofit organizations cannot succeed if they do not address this dilemma faced by society.

Discussion

Our nonprofit organization would have an aim of addressing the social concerns for single fathers. Since single fathers are not naturally inclined to train parents, that's why they need proper training and funds to successfully cater to their children's needs. Our nonprofit organization would specifically look at assisting the single fathers as there are not many nonprofit organizations that have addressed this issue (Janzen, et al, 2006).

Since it is a new concept, thus a lot of technicalities need to be looked at in a comprehensive manner. Since a new nonprofit organization has to be established, we would look at the different tools of social media that can be used to effectively attract the single father's attention. A basic set of board of directors would also be devised in order to have a proper decision making team in place. On the other hand, since it is a nonprofit organization, there would be a huge role of volunteers. Nonprofit organizations cannot succeed without the presence of volunteers. Volunteers are the backbone of nonprofit organizations and thus their role should be of a strategic nature (Janzen et al, 2006).

Emergency Essentials

Since single fathers would need the required emergency essentials, nonprofit organizations should have appropriate mechanisms in place for the provision of emergency essentials. Since the essentials fall in the emergency category, they must be made available to the single fathers on an urgent basis. Thus our nonprofit organization would look to specifically provide the single fathers with all the necessary emergency essentials. Since child care is of a sensitive nature and any late provision of emergency essentials would have grave consequences for the child, thus it will be our aim to assist the single fathers in the timely provision of emergency essentials (Janzen et al, 2006).

Emergency Funds

Since childcare often involves exorbitant costs, single fathers need to be provided with efficient funding mechanisms. They need to be assisted in the best possible manner as far as their funding needs are ...
